Pair of buttoned Howard & Son's armchairs
Very shapely pair of buttoned armchairs terminating on turned walnut and satinwood legs, Copes brass caps and castors. Double stamp to back leg on the birch frame and original upholstery. Lacking the paper label often found on early Howard & Son's pieces but most certainly their work. Circa 1860. The exaggerated scroll on the back is quite exquisite!
